Ol n' Ben around the world
Wake up at 10. Wind is gone.
For our first day, it takes us 2h30 to have breakfast, pack our stuff and get the kayaks ready. Not too bad for a first.
We leave Ymerbukta fjord and paddle in Isfjord bay towards Nansen morene. The sea is calm and after 2h30 of paddling, we stop for a lunch on the shore. We spot 3 reindeers and 1 arctic fox.
We return to the kayaks and paddle in the bay. Due to ebb tide, we have to stay quite far from the shore to avoid shallow waters. We finally enter Nansen bay, and both Nansen and Bore glaciers can be seen : very impressive ! Approaching the campsite is quite difficult with low tide, and we weave in the shallows. We finally dock on a pretty beach, on which stands an abandoned boat.
The campsite is beautiful, nested on a hill at the foot of Nansen glacier, and facing the bay.
After a hot dinner, we go to bed for a good night sleep as we are not guarding the camp tonight !
