Day 54, 27 August 2012, Last day in Istanbul prior to overnight bus to Cappadocia - Funny old day. Essentially we put our travel agent hats on after breakfast and booked our web-special trains for the Spanish portion of the trip. Also booked hotels for the next couple of weeks in Turkey and moving further out, our flights to Budapest and from Prague to get us to and from our Christmas Markets cruise in December. Also investigated flights to and from Bulgaria in the New Year for some cheapy skiing. Didn't quite get those booked. We spent the afternoon at Cemberlitas hammam to get us all scrubbed and buffed before the 8.30 pm bus to central Turkey. Pictured is what our bus looked like at 8.30 pm. It's the one in the middle! Our useless travel agent (avoid Pasifika Travel in Istanbul) - had us leaving their offices at 6.30 pm, at the station at 7.30 pm, and the bus eventually left at 10.20 pm. It was a long trip before we even left! But cheap. Must remember cheap. Trying hard to remember cheap but just remembering how hard the seats were. C'est la vie. Better to take the cheap bus and afford a balloon flight once we get there!
