Day 177, 28 December 2012, Tignes - It occurred to me this morning that I forgot to mention something that made us smile on Boxing Day. When we came down to breakfast, at the entrance to the restaurant, there was an elaborately decorated bed, red velvet and white fur, and upon the bed there slept Father Christmas, snoring very gently and very obviously to the delight of the children surrounding the bed. He even had an Elf asleep on the floor alongside the bed... Complete post-Christmas exhaustion had clobbered Santa. Made us smile. A lot. Great day for the skiing today too - headed out for a half day of cruising runs in a group lesson a couple of levels below our ability. Essentially the only way to have a relaxing ski and avoid instructors getting a bit carried away with "character-building" type skiing. Had a lovely morning and my dodgy old calf muscle made it to lunchtime. James powered on through the afternoon session as well - major kudos there given the recent one year anniversary of his snow allergy (broken leg) in the USA last Christmas. We enjoyed time by the fire in the evening, cocktails to hand before heading to the buffet. Apparently Club Med has great shows, dancing and entertainment each evening. We've even met people who've seen it. Unfortunately it all starts to happen about 9.30 pm... Pretty much the same time as the blanket show for us non-grownups. One last day on the snow is left. The moon was full this evening, the sky clear and the stars twinkling. Should make for a cracking day on the slopes tomorrow.
