Day 174, 25 December 2012, Club Med Tignes, France. Thankfully slightly cooler today - the April temperatures have disappeared and far more sensible winter temps have prevailed. Aside from it being a lot colder, there were less skiers stripping off on the slopes. Seriously! I had a lazy day reading, napping, swimming in the pool and hitting the sauna and steam room. James powered on for a half morning of skiing and I met him slopeside just before lunch for gluhwein. As it turns out, it took him the whole morning to get back having peeled off from his group and taken a wrong turn at a Black Run sign that actually led to another village. Which may sound innocuous, but this ski area resembles a massive game of snowy snakes and ladders and if you miss a turn, it may be 3 chairlifts and several runs to end up back at the start. After all his adventures we spent a generally lazy Christmas day - very quiet indeed (some skiers quieter than others). To amuse ourselves when our legs are too strained to ski, we revert to the ice water trick. Fill bath with icy cold tap water. Stand in bath up to knees. Voila! Legs don't hurt anymore. Nerves have frozen. Hours of fun to be had there....
