Day 308, 8 May 2013, Cue the Beach Boys song Kokomo... We woke up to palm trees and sunshine and we'd made it to Florida, the Sunshine state. Home to retirees and Disney world. First time we've really seen summer since Spain in October! We both had an excellent sleep just the way nature intended - ear plugs and a sleeping pill. Arrived at West Palm Beach Amtrak, around 5.30 pm and drove to Plantation Key - via Key Largo... Been a long day on the train. Around 90F / 30C upon arrival. Wow. Had forgotten the world could be so warm! Incredible the change from New York. Sun was setting over Key Largo as we reached the Florida Keys - this is officially our first keys sunset - shortly before we reached our lodgings for the night.
