Day 243, 4 March 2013, Wine Trail through vineyards of West Kelowna. Spring is on the verge of sprung in Kelowna and we headed out with Deb of Uncorked Okanagan in brilliant sunshine to explore the west side wineries. Having mountains, the lake and vineyards all in one place is a magical combination and the time flew by. We had wondered how on earth four wineries and lunch was going to take 4-5 hours... but it did! Favourite of the wineries was Quails Gate (pictured) - also the spot for lunch - very cosy with the fire crackling to one side of the table and the sun streaming in the other. The most spectacular location we visited was Mission Hill - very large, swish operation that even has concerts on site in the warmer months. It was an education for both of us as prior to this trip we weren't remotely aware of Canada's wine industry. We well and truly are now!
