Day 345, 14 June 2013, Foz do Iguacu / Iguassu Falls, Brazil. Ducking and diving we made it past the hotel's tour desk lady and within a couple of blocks we'd jumped on the public bus out to Las Cataratas - Wider than Victoria Falls they said. Higher than Niagara, they said. Made up of over 270 individual waterfalls we were told. And they was right. These are, without a doubt, the biggest and bestest waterfalls in the world. Also the loudest and most wet. Amazing day. Even the bus ride from town to the visitors centre was fun. How did we know when to get off? Look for other tourists and when the most get off, chances are you're there. The admission covered an open topped double decker bus ride into the heart of the park which was like speeding through the top of the jungle - if they just put "adventure" into the name, they could charge twice as much! The walkway through the forest and down to the heart of the falls - the Devil's Throat - was superb - dancing rainbows, slippery paths and rabid, scratchy, bug infested, food obsessed (but nevertheless - furry and adorable) Coatis were there every step of the way. They are known as the Robbing Racoons and the Thieves of Iguassu - because they'll get their little mitts into anything - quite often we were busy taking photos and our new friends from England (Hi Paula & Simon!) would have to point out that our feet were being thoroughly investigated. The roar of the falls was intense and the sun provided us with rainbows for part of the day. Incredible to see these massive falls - actually impossible to take them all in in one eye full - you have to turn your head to see everything. Can't wait to get in amongst them and walk through the falls on the Argentinian side... we're even considering a boat ride for the Baptism by Waterfall traditional drenching - mucho less dinero that side of the border.

Paula & Si Mather Glad you both had fun. Good to be able to see them from both Countries. We managed to get some football in whilst in Rio, and all the usual sites! Enjoy the rest of your trip. We are now at LAX, waiting to board our plane home. Take care.
