Day 344, 13 June 2013, Cuzco (flew to) Lima, Peru (flew to) Foz do Iguacu, Brazil. We are here for two reasons - We are desperate to hit the waterfall hat trick - having seen Victoria Falls in Zambia and Niagara in the USA & Canada. The most important reason however was saving $1300 on the airfare - compared to flying to the Argentine side of Iguassu Falls. Less than an hour away. It was a long day spent either in airports or in the air, but we made it in time to see the sunset and eventually settled in to our hotel - Pietro Angelo in the central district. Found that we had the most beautiful massive room with a jacuzzi. The bed however had the same level of bounciness as the floor tiles. We did enquire about a room with a softer bed - and were shown a room a third of the size, no jacuzzi and with a hard bed... Needless to say, we are still in the flash room! Hunted food. Tested Jacuzzi. Slept. Tomorrow we visit Iguassu Falls - wider than Victoria, higher than Niagara, so ginormous I think it'll hurt. Today's photo? Airports no fun. Aeroplanes - merely serve a purpose. Could have stopped for a sunset shot at Iguazu Airport... but had two Japanese tour groups right behind us on the tarmac, and no intention of letting them in front of us in the immigration queue. So today's photo (yes! Cat of the Day returns) is from one of our evening strolls around Aguas Calientes. Taking a bit of a risk impersonating cushions I reckon.
