Our first stop after leaving Franz was at Lake Matheson for breakfast. We were there for an hour so I went for a walk with Amy. We then headed through the Haast pass and had our lunch break in Haast. We had a few stops throughout the afternoon at Ships Creek and the Blue Pools. Our accomodation at Makarora was quite nice, we were in little triangular chalets with nice heaters!! we pretty much had the bar to ourselves so had a birthday party for one of the girls on ourbus. The barmaid set up a karioke machine for our use which was abused by a few of the English girls!! Once the bar closed, we all headed outside to sit by the fire untill the rain brought an end to our night.
