Rich & Alli's Travels
"Vegas baby!"
OK, my boss Doug was right, we would end up in Vegas for at least a night, but it was a handy stopping off point between Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. After a few beers in New York, New York and the Aladdin ($2 beers, we are travelling after all!), plus an In n' Out double double burger (Max, we were thinking of you), we headed off to Grand Canyon NP the next day.
Last time we went to the US we did a helicopter tour over the canyon and went to a cowboy ranch for dinner and a sing song round the campfire....no beans though (Blazing Saddle humour for the slower readers). Unfortunately a girl from Huddersfield ruined this trip for us by puking just as we went into the canyon. This time we went for the safer option and drove.
There is a north and a south entrance to the park, so we went to the north which is the higher of the two plateau's by about two thousand feet. The views were spectacular. There is a great ranch right on the edge of the canyon, and just outside are some walkways where the scenery is just stunning. Allison had to take most of the pictures though, as I'm a bit of a girl when it comes to heights.
Next stop is Arches National Park....how many more National Parks can we go to!?!?
