Friday
Today Hannah was totally wiped out as a result of constantly not sleeping. As such, we laid about, Hannah slept most of the day, and then we had turkey burgers with stilton and apple for dinner - yum. On the plus side, this day of outright laziness did mean Nik could rest his leg and had chance to read the whole manual for the new camera. We also watched some good films which was a nice relaxing end to the day.
Saturday
Actually managed to get up today which was a plus - that's what the sunshine'll do to you. After our staple bacon and eggs breakfast, we hopped up to town and visited the other half of the NGV. We saw some excellent stuff including some good teapots, chairs, lace and some brilliant photographic pieces. We also saw an infinite ladder which was also fantastic.
We had a coffee from a boxing gym which was next to a fight gym, and this made Nik miss his fighting but as he still has a bad limp, this is not an option.
We then walked up to the Melbourne Aquarium as Hannah no longer fears the fish. We saw penguins and they were excellent. We also saw lots of freaky sea creatures like jellies, and a toad fish, and some giant eels. There was also lots of rays and sharks and they were good too. Oh and baby turtles, we liked them. Was a very good aquarium actually, only let down being the herds of bogan families everywhere, they were some really special ones. The shark bit was a bit scary though, Hannah said "this better not be like that bit in jaws 3" and then where did we go, in a shark tunnel! We also measured ourselves to see what equivalent sharks we would be. Hannah would be a whiskery shark - hmm.
We then wandered down a road of strip clubs towards Southern Cross station so we could buy bus tickets as we are heading to Adelaide on Monday. We also sorted out our hostel and did laundry - so organised - although in fairness the washing wouldn't dry so our room now looks like a Chinese laundry. Fingers crossed it dried before packing fun commences tomorrow. Hannah also returned the favour and did Nik's hair for him - he is up to a big beard and the mohawk's back to its former glory now too.
