Simpson Desert Day 3, Tuesday 26th July.
Tonight we burn!!!
Wood was a bit of a challenge this evening but we have enough to keep warm once the 26 degree sun goes down.
Today we drove 110km from Poeppel Corner to a flat between two sand dunes 7km west of Erabena Junction on the French Line.
Lots of sand dunes that are chewed up on both sides. They are easy to traverse and neither of us had to stop or redo any. The slow going is dips which are about twice the size of shopping centre speed humps. Other traveller are blaming the 17 T-Vans that came through a few days ago...
Amity drove for about 2 or 3 hours today and got lots of practice keeping the car centered on the track as it is so over grown. We had turn up the AC/DC as the squealing of branches against the sides of the car was too much to bare.... Going cheap, Pajero with custom pin stripes!!!
Lucky Michael didn't join us for this leg of the trip.
Oh we well, now that Amity has made me a drink, time to put the steak on for dinner. Then we burn potatoes in foil and marshmallows....
