Left William Creek at 7am in the dark this morning. The Discovery has developed a vibration above 94kph, so it's slow going at the moment. Hopefully it is just mud causing the wheels to be out of balance and we can find a pressure washer in one of the next few towns. Aiming to hit Mildura tonight.

After a swim and a wash this morning at Dalhousie Springs, we headed off at 10:45am. The challenge for today is to see if Chris has enough fuel to get to Mt.Dare. The detours around the flooded salt lakes have really eaten into the usage of our fuel. 23km short of Mt Dare Chris ran out of fuel. I (happily...) drove into Mt Dare, filled up my car and Chris's jerry can and made the return journey. This road would be the worst section of road we have driven this...

Simpson Desert Day 4, Wednesday 27th July. Traveled 188km to Dalhousie Springs. The road into Dalhousie which is normally very dry and rocky was corrugated, muddy, rocky, sandy and flooded in some parts. Spoke to the ranger, who advised us that the Simpson Desert has been open for only 9 days. We were lucky to be able to do the crossing, but it was worth being one of first few to cross this season.
