Simpson Desert Day 1, Sunday 24th July.
Left Birdsville about 11am. Had a play on Little Red and Big Red.
The amount of wildlife has been amazing, heaps of birds and lots of green shrubbery! Today we passed a convoy of 17 T-Vans all doing the Simpson Desert crossing together.
The photo is of Eyre Creek in flood, which means we have to do a 68km detour. We set up camp 109km from Birdsville, on the bank of Eyre Creek and had a very relaxing time watching the birds around the water. At nighttime we encountered rats, dingoes and other marsupials.
