We have arrived a few days earlier then planned into Alice Springs so we are just enjoying a few lazy days. The first few days have been really cold which I wasn't prepared for. There wasn't anything to see along the way so we did a big drive. We stopped at "The Pebbles" just south of Tennant Creek with the intention of camping there but once we arrived Matt & I weren't too keen on staying. So we had a lunch break there and drove about another 100km south to the Devil's Marbles which had much more appeal. We arrived about 1:30 and got a good spot and after that the campers just kept coming. It was a very popular spot being the nicest...

After doing 10 000km through QLD we crossed the border into Northern Territory today. It is also the first time we were annoyed by flies! There were so many, probably due to the full rubbish bins at the rest stop.

Had a fairly quiet day today, dropping by the shops and the park again.

We went to the city's largest park today which was good for kids of all ages. We then checked at the underground hospital which was set up but never actually used as a hospital. It was built in 1942 by volunteers using explosives after the town feared they would be attacked next after the Darwin bombings. They also had a museum filled with lots of old medical equipment such as this rotor bed which would enable the patient to flip from back to stomach wit...
