Today was another great day with us all going on a helicopter ride over Nitmiluk National Park (a.k.a. Katherine Gorge). We flew over 8 of the 13 gorges in the 15min flight reaching speeds of almost 200kmph. Steve our pilot from Helispirit was great. With a maximum of 3 passengers on the Robinson R44, Matt, Zach and I went first and I got to sit in the front. After another fairly big drive and the boys still being good on the drives, I was very happy to stop at Bitter Springs for a swim. Only 48 hours ago it was too cold to swim where we were but after heading north a swim is very appealing. The water was tepid which was perfect with the warmer outside temperatures. With our floaties we drifted downstream with the current. The water is too deep to stand in but is crystal clear and is surrounded by palm trees and paper...

After a very comfortable and much appreciated night in the hotel we left heading north all the way past Threeways to Banka Banka Outstation. Liam definitely loved the warmth of a hotel sleeping in until after 8. Banka Banka is a great place to stay with it being a well mangaed park. Leaving Ayers Rock Resort we drove through to Alice Springs and after a week of temperatures hitting down to -1 we all loved sleeping in a hotel for a night of re-energising. We had a quick dip in the spa before Dad and Jodie looked after the boys so we could have a night off. We had a nice dinner at the hotel's Thai restaurant and came back to sleeping kids.

Today was a great day....definitely a highlight of the trip. I think more so as I wasn't planning on doing it so had no expectations in mind unlike most other places on this trip. Matt and I and Dad and Jodie took turns in climbing to the top of Uluru and it was amazing! Allyn climbed up most of the way yesterday and he did a great job at 70 as it was such hard work climbing the incline. Uluru is 348m high which is big for a "rock" but not the biggest. This title...
