Driving in to Mt Isa it is a public holiday for the Mt Isa Show Day. We dropped by the Information Centre which had a bit to look at and then found a spot to stay while we are in town. After lunch we took a drive to Lake Moondarra which was privately built to supply Mt Isa with water when it was establishing itself as a town. A nice dam for recreational activities or to have a picnic at.

We did a big drive today from Normanton to just past Cloncurry. We did get to stay at this beautiful free camp at Corella Dam. If you ever go here, the gate appears to be locked with a chain but take a closer look because it isn't.

Krys the crocodile is a life size replica measuring 8.63m. Krystina the crocodile hunter shot and killed it with one bullet to the head. We tried our luck fishing off the bridge this afternoon and yes we had zero luck once again.

We stopped by a popular free camp just out of Georgetown. It was a nice spot with a lagoon filled with lilies and birds. It was also hot and dusty. The chimney stack is the remnant of an old gold processing facility built in 1889.

We had a canoe on the lake (for free :-)) this morning before having some very nice cocktails and milkshakes for the kids) followed by a nice burger for lunch. We had another swim in the pool in which there were 3 sections. The warmest was also the shallowest which made it great for the kids. I love this place and would recommend to come here to anyone passing by. As well as being a beautiful spot, it is a well run business trying hard to please its customer...
