Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We are so close to home now but we couldn't quite make it without having more vehicle problems. This time it was a bearing collapse on the trailer. In many ways it worked out good. It was only that Zach needed to do a wee that we pulled over and normally I would take him, but this time Matt went. Matt happened to check the wheels on the way back and if we kept driving it wouldn't have been long before the wheel fell off. We are assuming this all happened as we lost a dust cap on this wheel on our way to Lightning Ridge. With all the rain, we think the roads were wet enough to splash water up washing out the grease causing the collapse. Matt had the bearings to replace it on the side of the road but one was the wrong size. Luckily enough we were less than 10km out of Collarenebri so we left the camper and drove back. It was only a small town but they had a mechanic shop that stocked lots of bearings and the staff helped out a lot even giving us a tub of grease at no cost. They only just opened today too after the Christmas break. So after putting it all back together, on we went to our next camp at Moree.
We spent the afternoon in the thermal pool which is normally 41 degrees but it wasn't this hot today. I assume it is due to the constant rain over the last 24 hours cooling it down. There was also another pool next to this that was a cool temperature so we went back and forth.
