Nikki's World Travels
Well after my last random update im back to my normal self however normal that can be!! Well we rocked up in wanaka about 3ish and i just loved the look of the place as did laura, a canadian from my bus so we quickly rang the office to see if we could get a later bus so booked ourselves on saturdays one. Woohoo!! So i spent 3 lovely days just chilling out in wanaka alongside the beautiful lake and mountain scenery. i didnt really do much there except just chill out!
The first night we all went out for drinks at "hot rocks" then we carried on the evening at shooters where they had karoke but luckily enough all the spaces for singing were full as i might have just got up there which wouldnt have been pretty!! So after copious amounts of JD (yes im back on the JD for a while - just loving the taste!) i headed back to sleep! The next two days i completed my 23rd book (yes i have read 23 books since aug 13th - not bad huh - and before you ask only 5 were chick books!!), layed in the sun, did much needed laundry - (gee im sick of my clothes) and ate in an irish pub that made me feel like i was back at home - oh how lovely!! So i was all refreshed to carry on my journey after the break! On the way to queenstown we stopped off at Puzzling World which is in wanaka. Its a place where there are loads of optical illusions and a giant maze and they have this room thing that if you stand at one end you're the size of the room but at the other end you're tiny yet the room looking at it straight on looks like a normal room - apparently the makers of LOTR used a similar technique!
So that was wanaka - lovely place and i bet its even better in the winter with snow-caped peaks!
love nikki
