Carisa Goes Abroad
We drove from Killarney to Kinsale (south of Cork) this morning. It was a cute little town on the coast. It is also the Cullinary Capital of Ireland (maybe this means no chips with my lasaguna!... oh yes we get chips with everything here). We had lunch in a cute place called the Little Skillet and then walked around the town.
After that, we drove to Blarney (north of Cork), which took us through Cork during rush hour. Blarney Castle is another tower house, but it is in major disrepair. The Blarney Stone is atop the castle and you have to climb up some scary stairs and go around the top of the roofless building to get to it. You can see down to the ground through the hole just under the stone. My fear of heights bearly let me cross from the up strairs to the down strairs let alone kiss the stone. So, I passed on the gift of elequent speach so I could exit ASAP.
Dinner tonight was at Kate Kearney's Cottage again. This time everyone was there. The music started out like just dancing music, but they brought out the little Irish dancing girls for a few songs. It was cute to watch my little cousins dancing around.
