The gym was the first port of call for today. We were still trying to keep up the fitness we had found in Melbourne and a free gym was too good a chance to pass up. After about an hour Shaun and I were done and we decided the best thing to do was to ‘Baywatch’ into the sea. Shaun went first and we tried to run into the waves and dive in a spectacular fashion; however we just ended up falling over and belly flopping! Next we decided to go to the little Bure that was a hut full of equipment near the swimming pool and see what they would let us have for free. We ended up with a pair of flippers each and spent ages swimming fast in the sea going up to the breaker and back while keeping an eye out for sharks.
After Vincent was done at the gym we decided we had had enough of the sea and went to laze by the pool. After not very long we had succumbed to the ‘put it on our tab’ of a 5 star resort and the boys had ordered ‘three of your most flamboyant cocktails’ for us to sip by the pool. Shaun had a banana daiquiri I had a passion fruit mojito and Vincent had fruiti Fijian. They were all wonderful but we should have had them in the pool bar, literally a bar inside the swimming pool where you sat on bar stools in the pool! After that we spent most of our time sunbathing.
We decided to walk down the main road until we reached the Cultural village, unfortunately it was mostly closed due to the day so we decided to pop to the laundry. The nice lady at the laundry did our washing and even dried the clothes giving us some free ‘Bounce’ in the drier then we walked home. Fiji doesn’t have much street lighting and what it does have isn’t here in Pacific Harbour so the road was pitch black, like last night, except for the occasional set of car headlights that more served to blind us than help. It was treacherous but fun as we chatted and danced about all the way so happy to be with Shaun. As most of the village was closed we were unable to get dinner and we decided to go back to The Pearl and have dinner there. The food was absolutely lovely as you might expect from a 5 star hotel and as we were feeling decadent we charged it to the room again.
