Today we made it as far as Manly. We had wanted to come here to have a night out as there were some interesting places with some good deals on food/booze combos and the free wireless internet pub. Today we spent the day at Nimbin. It turned out to be a lovely hippie type commune village with everyone all pottering around the main street selling organic veg and fruit and naturally made clothes. We found they had a laundry there too and so for only a few dollars we could wash our dirty clothes and sheets. We chilled out in the hot sun on the grass outside the laundry and bought a blueberry smoothie from their organic cafe. The washing was dried in a dryer so...

Today we were headed for Byron Bay, a famous hippie area known to all campers around Australia as a good place to pause for a while. On the way we were rewarded with two of Australia famous ‘big’ things. Today we decided to ‘do Sydney’. We were considering staying in Manly a while as it was so nice but today we wanted to drive to the Opera house over the Harbour Bridge. The Opera house was very impressive and we had a long walk around it taking lots of photographs of it and ourselves next to it. We slept well and were woken at 8 by the builders so decided to get up and go down to the beach for showers. We packed a rucksack with everything we needed and headed of down the coastal path to the shower block. It was open when we got there so I went for first shower, but it was freezing cold and salty water! Yuk. After a while of cursing and jumping in and out of the water I finally managed to wash my hair and get dressed in some clean clothes, it was worth it...
