There was still no power this morning, and I was getting a little irratated. It was really cold in the hostel and we were not able to take showers (unless you wanted to take a really cold shower). After having breakfast, a bunch of us stayed in the living room talking again. It was a really nice day today. At around 12pm, a bunch of us got sick of waiting for the power to go on so we went for lunch.
I ended up walking with this guy named Enrique. He was a Chilean from Punta Arena in Patagonia. He spoke perfect English because he learned it for 10 years in school and traveled to the United States. We walked a lot through Los Condes trying to find a good restaurant. We finally found one 20 blocks away from our hostel.
After, we walked back looking at other restaurants for supper tonight. Today was Sunday, and everything was also closed today because it was Sunday. So we couldn't do much. I think we walked about 3 hours today. We finally got back to the hostel around 7pm, and the power was finally back on in our hostel. We met up with Zahra and another girl named Trinh. Trinh was another girl from London who quit her job and decided to travel for a year. She was 31 years old, but looked 22 (probably because of her half-Vietnam, half-Chinese roots).
We ended up all going to a restaurant Enrique and I found a little after lunch. It was called Pizza Nuestra and they had a 2 for 1 special tonight (probably one of the cheapest places that we found!). After supper, Enrique wanted to go home because he had class tomorrow morning. The girls and I were set on going out drinking on a Sunday night.
We asked some local people and they told us that Santos Secretos was open tonight. The place was like a karaoke bar and disco on Sundays. A big pitcher of beer was 3000 pesos (6$). We ended up drinking all night until I started believing the British stereotype that Brits love to drink a lot....
The girls got drunk and that was when the conversations started to get interesting...we ended up getting home at around 4am. It was really a fun night!
