West Coast Walking
Nick decided that today was the day for some easy walking, nothing too strenuous. We headed for the Blue Pools and after a brief look at the massive Trout we started the Big Blue Valley Walk. It was only two hours each way, but we were basically scaling waterfalls and scrambling through the valley for the whole walk. We were exhausted when we got back, but good fun. Showering today took the form or a Glacial River, Nick assured me this was beneficial for my aching muscles. We managed a few other short walks and finished the day with a leisurely stroll along Ship Creek Trail at sunset.
Next we headed onto the Fox Glacier and used a rainy day to get all our washing done and spring clean our campervan. I have a feeling Nick is starting to get a bit Van proud... We also met a lovely couple here called Rachel and Stan who we went out for drinks with in the evening. They had also been living in Aus for the year and were from Oxford. She even went to the school Nick taught at, weird. Good night though and hopefully we might catch up with them again in Asia.
