Coromandal
Managed to fit in a quick White Water Rafting Trip including a scary bit going over the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world! Had to make up for the lazy German girl who wouldn't put any effort into her strokes, but very good fun. Nick required food so a quick stop at the pie shop before heading on up the peninsula.
Went for a walk to Cathedral Cove, very pretty but too many tourists like us! Then we hired a spade and dug ourselves some holes at the famous Hot Water Beach. Water was absolutely boiling and it was a delicate act of digging to get some hot water from the ground, building a wall so it wouldn't escape, but allowing some cold water in from the sea so we didn't end up with third degree burns. Zoe got totally distracted by the amazing sight of a pod of dolphins leaping out of the sea and surfing into the beach right next to us... Brilliant to see Dolphins in the wild and performing such spectacular jumps (Better than digging for hot water really!)
Coromandal Town was cute and the scenic coastal road was windy on our way to Auckland. (Managed to see the coastal road 3 times as we went back for things we'd left in a cafe in Coromadal - oops!)
