Had a lazy morning following our late flight and check in last night. The owner had told us about the Chiang Mai Sunday marker so we had a brunch at a nearby pub/restaurant & made our way to that. On our way to the market we came across an older temple, it was so peaceful and so so beautiful - one of our favourites so far.
The market was huge! We only got round about a quater of it! It had some great stalls & the art work for sale was amazing, wish we had space in our bags so we could buy stuff!! One stall was squeezing fresh oranges into bottels, no water, no suger, just pure orange juice. We bought one for 15 Baht and it was delicious. Saw other stalls doing similar things with other fruits and vegtables too.
We saw some of the big sites of Chiang Mai throughout our walk around the town market but have decided we will go back tomorrow when it is quieter to see them properly and get photos.
We went for dinner at The Chiang Mai Saloon which is a reccomended restaurant by Lonely Planet. There was literally everything you could think of on the menu, though it was quite pricey comparred to others around (not comparred to England though!!). All the walls were wooden and travellers had wriiten all over them, my favourite comment was "the Gibbon has landed" I took a photo just for Jen but it hasn't really come out.
we then spent the rest of our evening uploading our photos onto off exploring, took a while but we got there in the end!
