Coastal drive to Hilltop village of Labin, this certainly was a hidden gem !! Cobbled alleys pastel houses with bright coloured umbrellas hung up between the buildings. From there onto Pula, Nav lady took us right through the centre of Pula, very congested, heaving with people and hard to find a park. Finally got one about 100m down from amphitheatre which was our target. This overlooks the harbour, built in 1st century with seating for 20,000. Very Impressive. Picnic in park then motorway back through 5km tunnel back to beach for some swimming in the Adriatic. Beautiful water, really hot, as calm as a millpond, spoilt somewhat by old lady sunbathing topless next to us !!
Returned to car to see our car being egged. A youth hostel full of Belgian scouts was above us. After a traditional kiwi blasting a very fat apologetic Belgian scout raced out with cloths to clean the egg off our car. Watched and video'd by the rest of the scout troop !!
