Left at 8am for 3 and a hour drive on motorway to Zadar, through tunnels over viaducts travelling up to 130km an hour but still being passed by most other vehicles !! Roading system is very impressive, all toll roads, NZ could well do with this sort of system.
Nav lady took us all the way to the Lazy Monkey hostel to find Hugo and Jack waiting. Great to see them both. All squashed into car and drivers visibility was greatly reduced by having a red gollywog in the rear vision mirror.
Zadar stinking hot, arrived at our villa to be met by very friendly lady air con going in apartment which certainly has to be one of the best places we've ever stayed in.
Had a wander round old town of Zadar, down to water front promenade which is a wide expanse of paved area with steps leading down to the sea. There is a "sea organ" which is tubes under the paving which create different sounds as the sea surges through the tubes. Hundreds of people sitting around listening and getting in and out of the water. Boys and Charlotte swimming also.
Ice creams then back to apartment for dinner sitting out on our patio.
