This morning we woke again to glorious sunshine. Went to reception to book a few trips. This afternoon we went on a boat trip out to swim with seals in their natural environment. This was an amazing experience and a new one for us. You are not allowed to touch them but could swim within 2 metres of them. We were very fortunate and some of the seals seemed to be almost showing off in front of us. We had an hour in the water with them before returning. We came back...

Morning all. We left Marfell’s Beach this morning and took the coastal road towards Kaikoura. En route we visited a beautiful coffee bar/restaurant and sat in the lovely gardens there. Continuing on our journey, we came across hundreds of seals on the rocks in the sea. It was a beautiful place to stop and we took many pictures. Lots of baby seals too, A sight to be hold. We left Picton this morning. Went to White's Bay but wasn't too impressed so decided to move on to a site that Karl and Lisa came to 8 years ago. As you can see from the cover photograph, it is wonderful. The beach is called Marfell's. It is a Department of conservation site. Costs 5 pounds each to stay here for the night. Yeah sun is back this morning. We are moving on shortly, decided to have breakfast on the beach so parked the campervan on the sand, it's glorious. We then drove to Nelson which is a town and had some lunch there before moving on to Picton. We stayed for one evening in Picton at another Top 10 site. We went out in the evening to an Irish pub for a drink and then off to a restaurant for a meal and walked back early.

The weather this morning is not so good. Very windy and it rained during the night. Not really warm enough to sit on the beach. However, took a couple of track walks leading us up to a lookout over the campsite and around The Estuary. It was pleasant and we followed it by lunch at the pub. This is our last night here we are moving on to Nelson tomorrow.
