This morning we woke to very heavy rain. We headed off and stopped at Hokituka for a brunch but the rain is still heavy. We have now continued half an hour up the road to Hokitika Canyon and the rain is still unforgiving. We met a lady yesterday who said it is a beautiful spot on a sunny day and the water is very blue. However, she said if it’s raining the water would be grey as the limestone turns it that way. It is a 15 minute walk there and 15 minute back. I’ve decided not to go but Chris has gone, I asked him to take a picture, will wait-and-see when he gets back what he thinks. Whatever he’s going to need a change of clothes.
