So the end of a fabulous holiday is here. We've seen some amazing scenery - spectacular vistas in every direction - mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, forests, beaches and sea. We've really enjoyed the campervan life and have stopped in some great locations and sites. We've driven over 2,000 miles, gone on cycle rides and numerous walks and tramps (slightly more arduous walks). As well as this we have had great fun and great experiences.
We have taken 2 gondolas, visited a museum, took part in a street art show at the world buskers fair, been punted down the river Avon, took a city tram tour, whizzed around on electric scooters, seen kiwis and keas, watched a Maori show, saw the Moeraki boulders, walked up the steepest street in the world, watched penguins coming home via the beach after a day in the sea, took a coach and boat tour of Milford Sound, got soaked under a waterfall, saw a live bee hive in a cafe, took a ride in a mechanical shark, rode the Queenstown luges, drove an electric 4WD around a river delta, took the scariest jet boat ride ever (Shotover Jet), enjoyed a stargazing experience in a dark sky reserve (partly whilst lying in hot pools), visited a salmon farm, took a helicopter trip and landed on a glacier, experienced 3 hot pools, visited the Brunner mine site, did a 4WD 'Bush n Bog' drive, went kayaking, spent time on beaches, freedom camped, read books, played cards, ate in, and ate out, swam with seals, watched whales from a plane and swam with dolphins.
An amazing holiday in an amazing place.
In spite of a month in very close proximity, I've also been lucky to spend these great times in the company of my lovely wife.
