So another night shift, another Australian dollar! I can't believe that I actually volunteered for this shift, as the other night guy wanted the day off to watch the champions league final. Being a complete neutral, I will be listening at reception, so I thought I might as well get paid for it. My prediction, 1-1 with Chelsea nicking it in extra time, followed by a mass brawl and Ronaldo crying everywhere. You heard it here first...
So this week I have been busy trying to balance work and pleasure. I had a very good night out on Monday, playing in a pool competition at a local Sydney watering hole with my German friend Bastian. I came third, which was not bad, but I was incredibly lucky! Also got to hang out with some of the guys from the hostel who also happened to be there, which was awesome!
So tomorrow it is my day off and I intend to give the guided tour to a few friends who will have arrived overnight. I met them in Japan, and it is a very clear indication of the lives of travelers. One day you bump into people, get on really well, and the next you are in a different time zone! Then, a few weeks later, you may end up in the same place again by complete chance! But then again, there are many good friends that you will never see again. It is like a life in fast forward; I swear I have met more people in the last six weeks or so than I did in the whole of my time at university, and that is saying something. Don't get jealous home people, after all, its quality not quantity that matters in the friendship stakes!!
