Hello again! Ive had a busy few days recently, as I have been training for my new job in the hostel. It seems really cool, the work is by no means challenging and the people seem pretty nice so I think I will stick with it for a few months to earn some pennies for the rest of my trip. And yes Robin, email me your CV and I will try to get that tea makers job for you!! On another positive note, I have also reclaimed my wallet! It seems that a very shady character handed it in at the local police station and refused to give any details. The officer who returned it to me said it was probably some kid who felt guilty afterwards. It even had the money in it still too! So yesterday I went to the police station to collect it, and then treated myself to a hot chicken baguette from a stall by the harbour. Eating this in the sun sitting across the water from the Opera House was an excellent experience, I feel that sometimes on holiday people rush through trying to see as much as possible without ever taking the time to sit back and enjoy their surroundings. Maybe this is why so many people come back from trips exhausted hehe!
The weather here is still fantastic, although it is starting to get cold at night and my house does not have central, or any other kind of heating. This is apparently standard for housing in Sydney, and luckily Darren (the guy I am renting a room off) has left me extra blankets and things to use, so all is well! I hope the weather holds because this weekend I am going down to Bondi Beach with my German friend Bastian, who is going to teach me the basics of surfing!! Wish me luck, and hopefully I will have lots of pictures of me conquering waves soon!
