Ko Phi Phi
Well we arrived in Krabi on Wednesday and just stopped over the night in a cheap guesthouse with Angela and Seb a.k.a Sam! We ate at the local market (Neils cafe) and went back to the room for a few games of cards. The next morning we waved goodbye to our 2 travel buddies and we got the ferry across here. When we arrived it was raining and the room we were given in the guesthouse wasnt good- Neil couldnt hack it so he went and asked to move rooms (which we did but we had to pay a little extra.) At least we have air con and hot water (we were starting to forget what a hot shower felt like) We ate out in a bar and then headed to a 'Lady boy' caberet which was soo good. Some of them were really pretty and it was hard to tell if they were male or female!
After a small lie in this morning we were glad to see the sun was out and so got a long boat to Phi Phi Lay which is where 'the beach' was filmed. On the way we stopped to look at Viking Cave which is habited by 10 people and to look at, you wouldnt beleive that this was possible. Then we carried on to a small bay where there was no tide and no fish so was lovely to swim in. Neil jumped off the boat and i reluctantly clambered in behind. The water was cystal clear and beautiful to swim in. (This is the first time since i can remember that i have swam out of my depth in the sea so i was soo pleased with myself!) We moved from here on to another bay where there were fish and a chance to snorkel. The guy also told us that if we wanted to see Maya Bay( the beach) we would have to swim 40m to a ladder that we would then have to climb over the hill. The thought of swimming A. with fish, and possible sharks B. that far out of my depth made me nearly s*** myself but with a little encouragment the snorkel was on and off i went! I didnt see too much as i was a tad scared but i did the swim to the ladder and we got to see the most beautiful beach yet! Well worth it! I hadnt really thought about getting back though and so once again a liitle encouragement was needed to get me back to the boat! Mega pleased with myself!! Neil carried on with a little more snorkelling and I threw bread in which attracted hundereds of tropical fish who then stayed with Neil and swam around with him (we think they thought he had the bread ha ha) Of course Neil was in his element. We headed back and i stopped by for a Thai foot massage and pedicure which lasted 2 hours and was only 12 quid ( Hail i think you ned to reduce your prices ha ha) the thai foot massage also included my arms, hand and head for the same price!
Its now PISSING down again and once the rain starts you cant really go anywhere its really heavy and not many places under cover. Because of this, we know that Phuket will be the same (rain season in this part of Thailand) so we have decided to alter our plans- head back to Krabi where we can wait for my camera to be posted back to me and then get the bus to Kuala Lumpur from there.
Thats all for now. Next stop for a blog will be Kuala Lumpur! xx
