Singapore 8:30pm

Arrived here yesterday at about 9pm ish. Got a taxi to our hotel (which we are paying more for than anywhere else we have been) Fragrance Hotel Emerald. Had some chinese food locally and bed.

This morning we had a well deserved lie in and then headed to the metro into main town. Walked to Raffles hotel and shops and wandered around. It was worth the visit, totally amazing place and HUGE! Went to the Raffles hotel museum and shop and bought postcards which they posted for us as the stamp was already on it! Then headed to Long Bar to sample a Singapore Sling from the original place. AT 15 quid each it was rather expensive....but soo worth it! There were monkey nuts on the bar and the shells covered the floor! random!

Walked down the river alongside the Formula track which is being prepared for next weekend and saw all the seating and lighting- pretty amazing!

Found Stamford Raffles statue on the river and took a boat tour down the Singapore river to take in the sights!

We have had a lovely day. Great city even if it is VERY expensive. Off for dinner now!
