Chumpon Sunday 30th Aug 10:00am
Hello all. I bet you were all anticipating our next blog!! Well we had our last day in Chiang Mai on Friday and totally chilled. Had brunch in an organic restaurant and sat on the terrace of our guest house snoozing. We then got in a tuk tuk and headed to the train station bound for Bangkok (great!) We had a connecting ticket from Bangkok then to Chumpon, which is heading South. The sleeper train to Bankok was lovely and comfy and we were very sensible this time only havin 2 beers and both had an early night (only because there was no craic!) The train was due to arrive at 7am but was an hour late therefore we missed our connecting train....agggghhhhhh!! I was not a happy bunny to be sat in Bangkok again for aother 4 hours! Luckily Mr Cool sorted it out and exchanged our tickets for the next train at 1pm. We then spent the next 9 hours on this train which was hot and sweaty and not the most comfy. Mrs Suda (the guest house owner) that we had booked, picked us up from the train station at 10pm and drove us to her beautiful home, where she showed us our air con room in immaculate condition for only 3 pound 50 each!!! HEAVEN!! So here we are now in the small town of Chumpon, much better after a great sleep and about to have some breakfast before getting our boat to Ko Tao at 1pm. Neil is DYING to get into the sea and i have to say im quite looking forward to chilling on the beach too. We plan to stay 3 nights there (neil may do some diving as it is a diving island-the best and cheapest in the world) and then we are planning to head to Ko Phan Ngan for the full moon party, although it is tough getting accommodation so we shall see! Next blog will hopefully by a beach!
Hope all is good in England (and Ireland Debs!) : )
