Today we spent the morning in Pisa after we checked out of the B&B, and revisited the tower, and more importantly the famous Bottega de Gelatto! (Ice cream shop!) We also explored the winding and narrow streets and came across a little cafe and had one of the best espressos in the world! and it was only €0.80!
After my caffiene fix for the day we wondered on, with our massive rucksacks on our backs! After about 1 hour we needed another rest in the Pisan heat! We sat in a small backstreet cafe and tucked into a beautiful lasange! I'm sorry but british lasange doesn't have anything on the italian stuff!
After a revisit of the tower and more photos we wondered on down to our favourite gelatto bar and got two massive scoops of the gorgeous ice cream for €1.50! They had almost any flavour you could think of!
We went in search for the train station for the next leg of our journey to Florence! After a few last photos of pisa we got on the train and admired the tuscan countryside on the way to our next stop!
We got off the train in Florence and headed straight for the hostel as we thought our feet were going to drop off! Shaun went for a dip in the pool whilst I tried ferociously to connect to the free wifi!
Having got connected we then went to explore a little bit of Florence and grab sonething to eat. We ended up in a small cafe and I got spaghetti carbonara (off course!) which was delicious!!
We then had a craving for some chocolate so I hunted out a supermarket and we got some right bargains!! Cured ham for €1, a bottle of beer for €0.89 and best of all, a bottle of red wine for €1.60!!
So all in all we've had quite a cheap day full of eating and drinking!! and who thought Italy is expensive?
Lots of love,
Tash & Shaun x
