Two words to sum up today: Shopping & Curry! Milan really is the best place to come shopping! (if you have the money for designer labels- which I don't) Shaun says thats why we have only come to Milan for 1 day- so I don't get carried away!
We started the day by looking for the Duomo and some other famous sights. The weather has been a bit cloudy but it has been nice because it hasn't been as hot as the rest of Italy! If I had to live in anywhere in Italy it would have to be Milan (and there's an E&Y office for Shaun!) It's expensive but its such a lovely city!
So we started the day by going to the Duomo which was really nice! It was having some restoration work doing to it and there was scaffolding up, with a massive citreon advert over it! I thought that spoilt the look a little! Next to the Duomo was the famous shopping arcade The Vittorio Emmanuelle, which had loads of designer shops and nice cafes in, including a Gucci Cafe! I wanted to go inside, its a one off thing, but Shaun's eyes started watering at the prices! So we weren't going to be going there anytime soon!
We wondered round more of Milan and saw the castle and other bits. We had heard that there were nice restaurants and bars down by the canal so we went down there and ended up walking through the roughest part of Milan! It was like being back in Naples so we swiftly turned back!
After buying a few souvenirs we wemt back to our tiny hotel room! Even though it was quite cloudy and cool today I still managed to catch the sun! We're trying to top up our tans before coming home- noone would say we have been in Italy for a month by looking at the colour of us! We're still lilly white!
We went out for tea wanting something different than Italian food, and we stumbled across an Indians! We had a gorgeous curry but it wasn't like a british curry!
So since our hotel doesn't have wifi we've come to a cafe to buy a bottle of water (the cheapest thing on the menu!) and use the free wifi!
Tomorrow is our last stop and train journey (thank god!) to Venice!
I've still got over 3,000 photos left to take, and I want to try and use most of them so I might get a bit snap happy!
Milan has been nice, and I would come back one day if I had a couple of grand in my pocket!
Speak to you soon from Venice!!
Ciao! xxx
