Well today was our first day in Italy! We arrived at Pisa airport and got off the plane to a lovely warm heat! We then got our bags and began our long walk to the hotel!! I gave shaun the map because anyone who knows me will know how crap I am at reading maps! After a 3km walk we reached the B&B, a quaint tuscan farmhouse! We dropped our stuff and headed straight for the centre of Pisa!

On our way to the B&B we found a little ristorante, so we went back to that for a bite to eat! We got a humongous slice of pizza for only €2.50! our first taste of authentic italy! We then went on a search for the leaning tower!! It is an absolutely amazing sight! and as we turned the corner there were hundreds of people striking the same pose- as if they were propping up the tower! so we joined in with the fun!
after a few pictures from various angles we decided to sit outside the baptistry admiring the view. just when i thought all was well, a bird decided to poop right on me! all the way down my back!!! I quickly hurried to find the nearest toilets, which just happened to be in McDonalds! I came out of the toilet after cleaning myself up to find shaun in the queue admiring the advert for McFlurries! Yes, our first day in Italy and shaun didn't want an authentic italian gelato, but a McFlurry!
After cooling down with our Hazlenut and Chocolate brownie McFlurry we went back out and explored the beautiful cathedral and baptistry next to the tower! The baptistry has a percect echo and every half hour someone comes into to sing a harmony which was nice to listen to! After taking yet more photos of the Tower we headed back to the B&B and we are off out for some food!
So, all inall a good day! Total miles walked: my feet think about 100 but realistically probably about 10! and tomorrow we're off to Florence! See you all soon!!
