Sydney is a lovely city. Most of the people are very friendly and helpful, and it is full of tourists! The Blue Mountains are absolutely stunning. The whole area is a lot more built up than i thought it would be. We stayed at Katoomba, the main accommodation place in a really nice caravan park which, just across the road, had an amazing view of the three sisters and Katoomba falls. Byron Bay is a lovely little town. Its smaller and has an older feel than Surfers with small little gift and clothes shops in the small centre. It is, of course, full of backpackers, but the beach is very impressive and there are amazing views to be had. We went up to the lighthouse and walked around Cape Byron which was breathtaking. Surfers Paradise is an impressive, modern beach resort. It is full of holiday apartments and backpacker hostels, but you can understand why. The beach is massive and very impressive. It is so big that they have broken it down into lots of different parts. There is main beach, Broadbeach, Mermaid Bay, Miami and lots of others. Fraser Island is definately a highlight of our trip so far. We were picked up at Rainbow Beach, a small little town, and went on our 4 wheel drive coach to the barge. On the crossing, we saw dolphins!!! Nik was so happy!! We then drove along 75 mile beach Lake Wabby. It was quite a long walk through the rainforest and up a huge sand dune, but well worth it.
