Possibly the highlight of our trip so far, the Whitsundays and The Great Barrier Reef were fantastic. We decided to do a once in a lifetime helicopter flight out over the islands and landing on the reef. It was so amazing. We took off from Airlie Beach and flew to Hamilton Island where we picked up two other passengers, then off we went. Gday from Townsville. Well, we have been here quite a while now and we absolutely love it. It makes such a difference actually living somewhere for a while, and not travelling around, because you get to know the area and the locals and do and see things that you would normally miss when you just pass through. Magnetic Island has to be one of the most picture perfect places that i have seen so far. The ferry ride over to the island gives you the best view of the island and looking back at Townsville with Castle Hill in the middle. The sea is calm and lovely blue and turquoise colours, and if you are lucky like we were, you can see wild dolphins swimming there!
