Nat and Nik's Adventures
The Blue Mountains are absolutely stunning. The whole area is a lot more built up than i thought it would be. We stayed at Katoomba, the main accommodation place in a really nice caravan park which, just across the road, had an amazing view of the three sisters and Katoomba falls. It was such an impressive sight and the mountains really are blue, due to the mist from the eucalyptus trees. We went on the steepest cliff railway in the world, possibly the scariest thing i have ever done, and got a cable car back to the top after a rainforest walk. We also walked through the heart of the mountains between two waterfalls through the rainforest, which was great. We also went on a $12 for the day trolley bus which took us to all the sights.
At this time of year, it is yulefest, and there were decorations, xmas dinner and even a shop selling xmas decs all year round!!! Very strange, but great!!! We went on a hunt for an xmas dinner but were told we had to book. I just think we were too scruffy for the posh Carrington Hotel! So we settled for fish and chips. It was lovely there, if a bit cold, one morning we even had a frost, but it was nice to be reminded of home!!!
