Happy new year to you all my avid fans!!hehe!!
i will first start with my few relaxing days down the coast...
sunday night-i went out for a few drinks down in darling harbour with a few friends and friends of friends. only went out for a quiet night but didnt get home til 1am...good good night...
so i woke up at the crack of dawn to get ready-once again a hangover in full force..so went to Leichardt to meet my friend. we set off at 10am from the city and arrived at greenwell point about 2pm-the traffic was really bad and we stopped to get groceries.
we got to our cabin-with a spa bath, own private jetty, kitchen, and balcony....really nie place which overlooks the water. there were pelicans, parrotts, cockatoos, the famous kookaburras.it was so peacful and nice to have freash air.
so we had lunch of chicken, mushroom and tomato pasts before we got the fishing rod ready. so we caught a flat head...it was just about big enough to eat. i caught a bream which was only about as big as my hand! that went straight back in...so that was it...fishwise!! so for dinner we had flathead (all 100g of it-between 5!), steak, mash and salad followed by scottish shortbread (from aldi!)...very goos and good end to dinner. we played a few games of cards and i was tucked in bed by 10.30pm. i had a full size queen bed all to myself...heavan-i only have a single bed at home. had a wicked nights sleep and got up bright and early. spent a few hours in the morning fishing....caught an octupus and another really small bream. fried the octupus with a few spices-which was nice but at 9am-it didnt go down too well!!
at about 11am we headed down to culburra beach. a beautiful beach only 10km away. we stayed there for an hour or so and jumped back in the car and drove to kiama...a small beachside town about 1hr north of greenwell point. we had fish and chips out the paper by the seafront. had a walk up to the lighthouse and blow hole.after a few hours there we jumped back in the car and headed to seven mile beach...stunning beach with great waves. had a play in the sea before going to get some more groceries on the way home.
did some more fishing when we got back but its was very unsucessful. we had mullet and salmon for dinner with salad and french stick. played a few card games, had a few beers. we walked down to the end of the jetty to have a look at the star...saw 2 shooting stars and 2 satelites. so beautiful to see the stars...dont get to see them so much in the city.
off to bed, and up early to drop the hire car back off before 10am. set off at 6.30am and got back about 9am.had a good few days away...so gso good to get away.
so got back wed morning-new years eve morning. had a little nap and got my glad rags on before i headed out to meet tom before going to tim's for the bbq.stopped at the london-a pub overlooking the bridge, for a few drinks with more friendsbefore we went to tim's.
mama and papa sween were there, as was james and tom. tim and simon (brothers) and milena and olivia (simons wife and baby). mr and mrs walker( tim and simons parents). sean and hugh and their friends. had a bbq-snags, corn, roast lamb, roast beef. salad and bread...choc cake and cheesecake.so after food we walked 5mins down the road to watch the fireworks. they were amazing-absolutly breathtaking. its definatly an emotional time and had a few tears when i called home.
walked back to tim's to sing auld lang syne, a few more drinks and a few more songs.then walked home with tom, james and mr and mrs sweeney.
a really good night and a really good christmas. happy new year to you all and i hope you half as much fun and laughs as i did.all my lovexx
