Day 1 Friday 13th
Blue mountains
Katoomba falls reserve
We drove from down near the airport to Balmain to collect my things. After sorting out the last few bits we set off on our journey towards the blue mountains. We let Balmain 2pm ish and got to the blue mountains at 6pm after stopping to get some groceries, beer and wine. We had a look over the mountains from echo point but didn't stop long as only 10degrees and it was raining the rain that soaks you through!!
Dad had a very heavy brake foot but he wasn't driving…I was!!! All good. The electric kettle didn't work so we are on the old fashioned kettle with gas to make a much needed cup of tea. We walked up into katoomba as the rain had eased off in the search of dinner and we found a really nice Thai place. We had pad Thai, chilli basil chicken and Mossman curry and it was all really good. By the time we had finished our meal, the rain had returned so we got a cab back to the site for $6-best $6 ever spent!
Day 2 Saturday 14th February
Blue mountains
Katoomba falls reserve
Rained ALL day and it just kept on getting worse and worse so we headed in to town after spending all of the morning in the van. We got parked up and had a wander round the few antique shops before we heaed to see Derek and Margaret at their villa by the 3 sisters look out ppoint. They cooked us a lovely dinner of kangeroo and lamb steak, sausge, salad and the trimings. Was very good. Was lovely to see them both and are looking very well. Have a lot of tales and stories about their trip and adventures. We got a taxi about 9.30pm and headed straight to bed.
 Day 3 Sunday 15th February
Port stephens
One mile beach holiday park
We set off at 10am from the blue mountains. We drove via Richmond, Windsor and Wisemans Ferry which then took us about 5 hours to get on the highway after going through the mountains and taking the scenic route. We saw a kangeroo though!! Had to clear some trees from the road, go through water…it was all a bit of an adventure especially as the road was unsealed and threw everything about, including us. We arrived at our destination at 5.30pm after a long day of driving through the rain. We had a concocotion for dinner and then heaed down on to the beach while the sun was still up-not that it was shining it was hidden beneath a good few metres of rain cloud as it had been all day!
its been good so far and everyone is still alive and well!!
