With only 6 other people on the bus the journey to Katherine was quite relaxing, we even got to watch a film! We arrived in Katherine and headed straight down the high street to the Motel. It's not the nicest of places and there seem to be alot of issues with the different cultures in the town but we were pleased to get to the Motel which was a little oasis. Our room was huge and cost us the same as the some of the hostels we've stayed at so we dumped our bags and went to have a drink and a bite to eat. We had a very relaxed evening and met some crazy aussie's who kept us entertained!

We had a late check out the next day and then had a walk into town to pick up some food and drink for our next coach trip. The lady who ran the Motel was very sweet and said we could hang around the pool for the afternoon which we did (in the shade!).

Too soon it was time to get back on the coach for our 16 hour overnight trip to Alice Springs - Oh joy!
