Wow - we love LA. Arrived at the hotel after a great flight (but a bit of a hairy taxi journey!) and had a few beers in the hotel bar and a bite to eat but by 8pm we were knackered so had an early night.

Our first full day we went down into Santa Monica and walked down to the farmers market which was great (quite different to the farmers market in Andover!). We then went down to the pier and then walked along the front to Venice Beach which is very cool - a bit like a sunnier version of Brighton!

After walking for 5 hours we headed back to hotel and booked into a seafood restaurant for dinner. The food was amazing but the best bit was the cheesecake!

The following day we went on a tour of LA. Super chessey but great fun. Went to where Baywatch was filmed (only 10 mins from our hotel) and then downtown LA and Hollywood Bld. The afternoon was spent seeing the stars homes in the Hollywood Hills and driving through Bel Air and there was just enough time it have a walk down Rodeo Drive but all the shops were shut - maybe not such a bad thing!

Our last day in LA was spent on Third Street Promenade, having a wander round the shops and then packing before leaving for the airport - New Zealand here we come!!
