I woke up this morning and started the usual routine of making breakfast in our one sauce pan and one hot plate, when we received a message saying we had to leave Crete that night. After a few moments of panic and a group gathering at the apartments, Michael and I started frantically packing our 6 suitcases. We had 6 hours to pack everything that was scattered across the shoebox. We loaded the mini car with our bags and drove to the airport. So there we were again with too many bags that weighed a total of 104 kg (229 lbs) at the ticket counter begging for mercy to not over charge us. After much persuasion we settled for 100 Euros and boarded the plane to Athens. We arrived in Athens around 7:30, checked into the hotel and slept for 4 hours until the next flight.
