This morning we decided to all walk the beach together before breakfast as everyone was awake (almost!). We saw 4 dolphins and the manta ray again and the kids found some big shells in the rock pools but protested when they weren't allowed to bring them home. We took photos of them all instead! Nick made breakfast for everyone while I packed up and we were on the road by 940am. We drove straight to Esperance without stopping (although we did get fuel and empty the toilet on the way out of Hopetoun) and arrived at the Sea Front Caravan Park just before 1pm. We have a spot right on the front with the playground in front of us and then the ocean. Great views but I'd forgotten how windy Esperance is and we bear the full brunt of it. It took 3 of us to put the annex up without it blowing away. Naturally before we even tackled it we had to have coffee and more Christmas cake. Once the van was all sorted, we walked into town to try and find the kids some lunch but being a Sunday not a lot was open. We ended up in Red Rooster but not a lot of it was eaten and the kids complained about the walk home!! They disappeared into the playground once home and only appeared for beans on toast for dinner briefly - I think they like it here.

Katharine's Corner Hey guy's! Welcome to Katharine's corner. This is a space where I write about the things happening around me. This trip doesn't feel as I thought it would. I still think it will be an exciting experience for us kids, in ways where we can meet new people, learn new things and have an amazing experience that only a few people get to try. I miss all my friends and wish they could be here with me. I won't write on the blog everyday but I will try to write on it when I can. I can't wait for Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef. As few of you know, science, I hope, will be a big part of my future as I want to earn a living by being a Marine Biologist so this should give me a head start on that. To all the people reading this (such as Hayley, William, Grandma and Poppy Jon, Kate and many others, you know who you are:), I miss you all. xxx p.s. to: Hayley, thanks for the pillow. it helps!! to: Grandma and Poppy Jon, thanks for the cake to: kate, hope winters fine!!! and finally to William, i miss you too and thanks for the gift. hope I will see you next year and more years to come.:):):)!!!
