Up at 8am to have breakfast, pack and tidy up the bungalow for checkout at 10. Met Drew who owned the bungalow.
Once packed we drove south and stopped at Cow Bay; there are supposed to be lots of cassowaries but we didn't see any. We did see a man with two dogs who were unrestrained despite signs to the contrary and the presence of two rangers.
We stopped for ice cream at Floraville ( coffee and wattle seed , rhubarb. And vanilla) bought by Tom
And then back to the Daintree river and the ferry crossing . We stopped and bought a picnic lunch at Mossman thinking we would have a picnic at Mossman gorge but we found that 3 years had invoked much change and there was now organised tours and a gorge centre and it cosines to visit so we drove on to Port Douglas and had lunch at Four Mile Beach
We then drove into port Douglas proper and booked In to Balboa apartments (#5). It was delightful with 3 bedrooms and lots of space.
We went to Rivers to buy Oliver some shorts and tshirts as he packed for himself and the shorts he brought were too small! The boys went for a swim (pool temp a hot 35 degrees) and then we had a beer before walking up to town for dinner.
We went to Star of Siam A Thai restaurant and then walked home and went to bed early so that we can get up and go chase some crocodiles on the low tide ! Yippee another early start to the day
