While we have been to Port Douglas before , we had never been to the rainforest habitat and we were all uncertain what to expect.
S had booked this event a few days previously so we were up early and ready to eat at 8:30am.
The breakfast and lunch area is totally undercover and it's a breakfast buffet where you can help yourself to whatever you want to eat. A number of injured birds are strategically placed around the eating area and Oliver enjoyed talking to them all.
There were a pair of tawny frogmouth owls that sat there asleep and they were so cute.
After breakfast we went on a number of tours of the rainforest area and wetlands area and Grassland area and the keeper fed the animals and explained much about the rainforest habitat to us.
Oliver wanted to have a photo taken cuddling a Koala but we were too late; however he did manage to have a photograph taken holding a baby crocodile.
We left there about 1 o'clock and came home and had lunch and a lazy afternoon.
We walked up Macrossan St and went to Rattle and Hum for dinner . David and I really liked the numbered photograph behind our table.

Eliz Lovely photo of Oliver and the croc. Shame he couldn't cuddle a koala.
